Greetings, Fellow Quarantiners!

Well, if you’re reading this newsletter it means you’ve made it to the fall! So far 2020 has been a very tough year for us all, but here we are. So congratulations and yahoo and onward! It’s no secret—and I think I can speak for all of us—that so far this year has pushed hard against our accustomed limits.

While in the midst of the COVID-19 quarantine quite a few people have been surprised at how I’ve recommended comfort food and an “easy does it” approach to coping with everyday living. As fundamentally strong as we humans are, the stressors created by what has happened to us as a culture are not to be underestimated. Comfort and stress relief are paramount needs—and continue to be as the pandemic remains a threat.

I would like to invite you to consider this possible solution to the stress and isolation you may be feeling; it’s one I’ve discovered that seems to work well.

Before I start—I know, I know—“If I have to do one more thing on line …!” It’s an understandable cry right now—and it rings true. But I promise you a fitness class with a good trainer and good friends for company will change everything. I am involved now with just such a group, and many completely endorse it and report it’s the highlight of their day!

Zoom Friends and Family Fitness

One of the biggest disruptions caused by the pandemic is the elevated sense of separation from those we have traditionally counted on for support. Our support networks have shifted of necessity, which
might continue to be the case for a good bit longer.

1.) Think of four or five (or six) friends and/or family members with whom you’d love to have a meeting weekly. What if your fitness class was also part of a chatty, laughing time— that could certainly be a part of the connections you’re seeking.

2.) What would it be like to meet with them and be lead through a fitness class, while each one of your group stays in the comfort and safety of their own homes?

3.) Wouldn’t it be great to be “with” those you care about, getting fit all the while?

Well, as it happens, I am conducting these classes and I have to say they are working out (so to speak) very well!

So are you interested? Here’s what to do:

1.) Call, text or email me to learn more about the classes.

2.) Talk with friends and family. See if you can interest them in trying a no-charge trial class with me.

3.) Interested parties will need to have a Zoom account; also needed will be enough space to set up the device and allow participants to stand and/or be on the floor.

4.) Equipment such as dumbbells, mats, bands, and chairs are helpful but not required.

5.) Think of this class as an energetic and purposeful way to stay connected and supported.

6.) Ask yourself this question: With three or four people  would it be fun to do this class?

We’ve made it so far; Zooming together could be a very fun way to persevere and power on through!  I hope to hear from you.
