Hey there! So finally we have reached the summer we have been waiting for! Thank goodness we are headed into the seasons of abundance of fruits and vegetables.

And, while I have your attention, who among us doesn’t want to believe that their food choices are crucial to the goal of living forever? Maybe it goes without saying, but I’m saying it anyway. And for this newsletter, my focus is on the superfruit; the mighty blueberry.

One important way to add fuel to that “live forever” fire is to really amp up your consumption of blueberries. Add this powerful fruit to your shopping list, please, every time you go. Let me tell you why (note the heavy use of capital letters to get my point across …):

  • Blueberries Are Low in Calories But High in Nutrients.
  • Blueberries are the King of Antioxidant Foods.
  • Blueberries Reduce DNA Damage, Which May Help Protect Against Aging and Cancer.
  • Blueberries Protect Cholesterol in Your Blood From Becoming Damaged (in other words, out of optimal balance).
  • Blueberries May Lower Blood Pressure.

Reasons To Eat Blueberries Or I'm Going To Live Forever!

And if that hasn’t convinced you … consider this.

According to more than a few studies, a bowl of blueberries can help to boost immunity and can reduce the risk of diabetes, obesity, and heart diseases. Moreover, consuming even a small portion of berries daily can help to strengthen your metabolism and prevent any kind of metabolic syndrome and deficiency. In fact, according to research, it was observed that consuming berries over a period of five to six weeks, remarkably improved the metabolism in individuals dealing with low metabolic symptoms.

Here’s a simple and scientifically proven reminder for your next food shopping trip: selecting, preparing, and eating your food from the standpoint of “color” goes a long way toward reaching that balance of nutrients and vitamins every one of us needs. Eat the Rainbow! Choose colorful foods—red/yellow/green/orange/purple and BLUE whenever you go to the supermarket or farmer’s market. You’ll feel good about bagging up a dazzling array—and your body will thank you! Just as Dr. Seuss tells us in his rhyming way—eating brightly colored naturally grown food is key to good health.

And, really, who doesn’t love the color blue?
